Miles City Non Profit
Announces Major Capital Campaign
Miles City, Montana USA April 19, 2010
Million Dollar Monday

Fun2U, a local
501(c)3 nonprofit organization, has announced its plans for raising
approximately 1.4 million dollars in funds to be used for building a
concrete community swimming pool and bathhouse. Fun2U is seeking 500
donors who will be known as “Pool Founders” to make a tax-deductible
donation of $2000.00. One million dollars will be raised through this
capital campaign to raise funds needed for construction in 2011.
In-kind donations of material and labor are anticipated to approximate
$400,000.00. Fun2U has secured a 10 year lease renewable 10 times on an
8000 square foot building owned by Custer County. Fun2U has installed
electric, gas and sewer at the site and plans for further updates within
the next year
President Robin
Hogan states, “Fun2U has had tremendous community support.
People want to see our group succeed. The past three years
have been spent visiting with pool engineers, visiting various
pool facilities, outlining expenditures, estimating profit and
loss as well as fundraising. All of the pieces of the puzzle
are in place; we’re simply lacking the funding. Collectively
over 7000 hours of volunteer time have been donated by our board
of directors and over 70 volunteers in the name of Fun2U. We
are thankful to the many individuals and groups in the past who
have donated their time and resources to build a public concrete
swimming pool. Public demand is evidenced in newspaper articles
dating back to 1922 where individuals have requested the
community to “dig up” and donate for a concrete swimming pool.
The Fun2U board is asking the community to take the plunge with
us to build a concrete community pool for Miles City by making
Fun2U your nonprofit of choice for donations in 2010. We hope
that an outdoor community pool will enhance recreation and
sporting opportunities for generations to come.”
Fun2U’s primary
focus is to provide a concrete swimming pool in a
family-oriented setting to benefit all South Eastern Montanans
who visit our community. Fundraising for the capital campaign,
Million Dollar Monday, begins on April 19, 2010 and will end on
July 19, 2010. A listening session is planned by Fun2U to
receive community feedback in May. If you’d like to learn more
